Welcome to My Website!

I’m a children’s author. If my writing can be any part of a child’s wonder, awe, imagination, laughter, education, and better relationships, then I am a happy writer.

Children have always been an important part of my life. As such, I got a degree in Elementary Education, which I use to substitute teach and volunteer in schools. I know children make me a better and happier person, and writing for them is my great privilege and joy. As a child I wrote many poems and stories as gifts for people I loved, and to sort out my thoughts. If you’re a child who loves to write, or has any questions about my books, send me a message!

I enjoy writing for the educational market, but also enjoy writing picture books, poetry, chapter books, and am experimenting with graphic novels and middle grade novels. Some of my writing is lyrical, some is humorous, some is expository, but all of it is part of a meaningful creative journey!

If I’m not writing, you’ll likely find me hiking, biking, singing, playing the guitar/ukulele, reading a book, caring for my chickens, or enjoying my family (maybe even reading to my grandchildren).

I’m a volunteer connect co-leader for the Rocky Mountain Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
